About Us
Greetings and salutations, I've been in the surveying profession for many years.
I started out in upstate New York in 1979. Because of the inclement winter weather,
which limited opportunities for work, I moved in 1984 to Lake Havasu City, Arizona,
where it was slightly warmer (yeah, if you call 120 degrees slightly warmer).
I worked for Northwest Surveying in Lake Havasu from 1984 to 1987. In 1987 I
began working for Stovall Engineering in Bullhead City. By 1995 I had received my
Arizona registration, which was followed by my Nevada registration in 1996. As a result
of plans to close the engineering firm, I made the decision to begin my own business:
Cornerstone Land Surveying in 1997.
Over the course of my career I've done private and commercial surveying, comprising
construction staking of new developments and surveying existing developments.
However, I find surveying remote tracts of land most enjoyable. I've kept involved in all
aspects of surveying, including research, field work, and drafting maps. I’ve been a
member of the Arizona Professional Land Surveyors since 1996.
In 2005 I married Barbara, and part of the fine print meant she was to take on the
position of office manager. She keeps the books and takes care of the billing and the other
fun paperwork stuff. In 2012 my youngest sister Sandy came to assist me in the field
work and make sure the day's projects go as smoothly as possible
